It’s the last day of 2018! Has it been as great a year for you as it has been for me?
The year did not start out stellar. I had a lawsuit which was the absolute death, another locked in mortal combat, and of course all of this was happening while I still was undergoing “death by a thousand paper cuts” with other files.
But something really interesting happened. I realized I wasn’t happy and I decided to make a change. That is why 2018 will go down as one of my best years – the decision to change.
Now though, it’s time to continue with the follow through. So as they say … Out with the old and in with the new.
Kind of like what happens today and as represented by a couple of pennies in the picture above.
Are your pennies pretty much the same? In other words, are you going to pretty much carry your 2018 life over into 2019?
Why not take the chance on your dream? I’ll tell you why? Because there are real risks, but try to project forward 5, 10, 20, years … perhaps even on to your deathbed.
What’s going to be worse, you saying: “Gosh, if only I had gone for it!” Or, is it more likely that you will say to yourself: “That was one of the worst decisions of my life.”
If it is the later, well then listen to that and hold back. There’s something that you yet need to draw before you make the leap into the unknown.
But, if you have any inclination that it will be the former … don’t waste another day. Tip just one glass of bubbly to ring in the New Year and get to work on your reinvention.
As for myself, I am so happy and grateful for all the people I am meeting. To folks at Tableau Software and neighbors alike, I am really looking forward to collaborating with you in 2019.
Please feel free to take your two cents, not the coins but rather your best ideas, and boldly plant them where they can best grow in the year to come.
I would love to get your comments below. Cheers!
