An email hit me this morning from Strafford Live CLE Webinars indicating on Tursday, May 22 at 1:00 EDT (i.e. 10:00 PDT) they are offering an 1.5 hour CLE titled: Title Insurance Coverage: What Real Estate Counsel Need to Know.
This sounds good for real estate counsel wanting to keep abreast of things and scoring some continuing legal education credits. BUT if your a dirt lawyer, a much better opportunity is available the preceeding week. Specifically …
Gary Kent – the chair of the committee on ALTA/ACSM Standards for ACSM/NSPS and also chairing that committee when the ALTA/ACSM standards were updated back in 2011 – is going to be in Tacoma offering a full day presentation on Friday, May 16 titled: Title v. Survey: Statutes, Standards and Boundary Law Principles.
Although this may not be qualified for CLE credits, for serious boundary dispute practitioners this is a very worthwhile event to attend. If interested in going, take a peek at the information provided by this meeting’s sponsor – the Land Surveyors Association of Washington (LSAW) via this link.
